…the test of time

a simple

piece of jewelry

handed down from - grandma to daughter - to her daughter (me) - said brooch is very small - as they were - back in the day - perhaps 3/4 inch across - with a tiny clasp - to hold it closed - it’s now over a hundred - years old - dating to the early 1910’s or so - grandma most likely - received it as a young girl

it’s very fragile now - so i no longer - wear it myself - fearing i might lose it - instead i value it - for the treasure - it is and the memories - it brings forth of - my grandma in her youth - youth which always represents - a hope of new beginnings - a life yet begun - one you know - will bring many adventures - unexpected surprises as well as challenges - i view this tiny - brooch and it’s always…
