Beaver

A beaver has moved in slightly downstream from our property. Recently saw a farmer removing loads of branches from the stream and wondered what was going on. Then a few days ago saw the beaver has been VERY active in the forest directly alongside our property and indeed several of trees on our property.

Now we are used to them chopping down trees directly on stream bank, but this fella is attacking trees well over 50 meters from the stream including this example which fell on our horse field and luckily parallel to our overhead electricity line. We have lost power a few times due to fallen trees and only 2 years ago had to have a large section replaced with new cables and posts (free to us).
 
I have reported the situation to electricity company who are responsible for keeping trees back but complicated as property owners include Bavarian State, Parish Council, Ourselves and at least one farmer. Added to this,  beavers are protected, and the County Council is responsible for any damage/issues with them!.
