Grey Heron

The young one was watching from the top of the dovecote and flew down as soon as she saw me. I was about halfway through feeding her when a woman unclipped her small terrier from its leash. It made straight for the young one who was off like a shot. When I went down to the water's edge I could not see her. I went onto the viewing platform and saw her head popping up between the reeds. I mad my way to her feeding spot and saw her slowly coming towards me out from the reeds. She had the rest of her food and seemed much more herself by the time I left.
