A mosaic

Of lichen on one of a pair of granite gate posts which, now gateless stand on Fraserburgh Golf Course. The gateposts probably date from before 1891 when the course, then just 9 holes, was relocated from 'the public commonty' (Fraserburgh Links) to its present site on Philorth Links - land gifted by Lord Saltoun. The posts are close to the track leading to what was then Lord Saltoun's private railway station Philorth Halt and to the estate home farm and policies.

The other gate post is shown in the extra.
