Defeated...
..by the hat!
I had such high hopes. I was making great progress on my attack on unfinished projects, working on the second of three challenges..the hat.
I was quite pumped as it would finally complete the outfit I had knit so long ago - a sweater coat and a scarf ( see above) ..All I needed now was this hat to top it all off..
But, alas, it was not to be.
I knit it up yesterday but had to unravel half of it..due to an error of omission in the pattern! Then I knit it up again today and actually finished it, after having to correct another of the pattern's instructions....Geez..Did no-one test and edit this pattern?
Anyway, I muddled through but to no avail. What a disappointment when I tried it on. It just didn't work - I could not make sense of how the brim was to work. And it looked ridiculous on me..not glamorous as in the pattern's photo! I had hoped for "glamorous"!
At that point I just gave up...Thought it best to walk away..admit defeat...After all, a true journal should acknowledge failures as well as successes, right?
On top of that disappointment, I had really hoped to blip my finished hat today to celebrate having so quickly completed step two in my knitting challenge! I was not prepared with a back-up blip, so the best I could do was blip the absence of the hat!
And so, it is on to the next - on to Project #3 - a scarf that needs beads...and for which there is no pattern! Yikes...
