Red Kites

I went out for a wander around the village with the 70-300mm lens attached to my camera today - so glad I did as I had a couple of opportunities to photograph some of the local red kites. Another shot in extras. Looks better in LARGE of course :-)

Even at 300 mm both of these images are heavily cropped. I just love these magnificent birds.

The little blurry blobs on the left above the branch is not dirt on my lens - I think it must be a cloud of insects!
