Blipmeet!
Taking a break from my ”stuff” series today as I actually ventured out of my neighborhood to see the Imogen Cunningham exhibition at the Seattle Art Museum with friend blipper Tookie . An enormous show, it was a bit overwhelming but lovely to see the real photos instead of pictures in book and so many different periods/subjects of her long and creative life . Then, still not comfortable in restaurants, we ordered take out Maine Lobster Rolls from the new cafe and brought them home to eat and talk! Some of the early work with those large format cameras and double negatives would put photoshop users using layers to shame. (2nd extra) A really fun day…thanks for driving, Clare! More in the extra… including some sculpture by Ruth Osawa, a really good friend ,and a video of Imogen describing her life and work. glad I don’t have to drag that big camera around, And the best thing I’ve eaten since my last take out. !
We had tickets to the Seattle Opera production of Orfeo and Euridice tonight but it was to be done chamber style in the small space they have with benches, shoulder to shoulder, and we couldn’t do it so put ourselves on the list to opt for the streaming version Feb 7. No guidelines for social distancing at events with everyone vaccinated. Just couldn’t do it. sigh.
