Early bird catches........

A snake.
I don't know what caught my eye out of the kitchen window but this Magpie certainly seemed to making hard work of this "worm". I went and had a look and realised that it was a snake. Only about 50 centimetres long...but definitely a snake. It appeared to be dead but the Magpie was having great difficulty trying to eat it. 
I left him to it and when I returned about an hour later both had gone.
I have sent a more detailed photo to the reptile park if I.D.
