Abstract in Nature

I need new walking boots and a waterproof coat (my wallet is already screaming!) so headed off to Basingstoke to search, intending to stop at a local nature reserve on the way.

At my first stop I only managed a 100m or so before turning round ... the paths were a quadmire ... remember me say I needed new boots? !!

The next stop at Old Basing was infinitely more successful. Most the paths were hardcore and there were even frost pockets to be found with frosty leaves.

However, my eye was drawn by a wooden fence beam with bracket fungus spouting along the grain. Just what I needed for Ingeborg's Abstract Thursday Challenge of Natural Shapes
