Aspirations

Two builders came to the house today to look round so they could prepare a quote. I was anxious that now the Poles have Brexited, there would be no builders to quote but it seems that at least some Romanians and some Croatians are still here. Both could start in February (in builder-speak that probably means the Ides of March at the earliest). I know that during the year that I waited for planning approval costs rose astronomically but I am desperate for the work to start. I know which of the two builders I would pay an extra £3,000 to but this is a joint project with my next-door neighbour so we have to agree. We'll have a chat in the morning.

I told the one I preferred that I was planning to do a photo-blog of the process and he was very keen.
