Fireside Friday
Sunny but windy, high of 50 deg F, low predicted to be 22 deg F. The sound of a kitty being sick caused me to jump out of bed too early this morning. We have consulted vets, tried many remedies and still, these kitties get sick a couple times each day. Drives us nuts! I put away the tree from this room; everything is upstairs now. The HVAC guy has to get to our upstairs heating system (in our attic) through our unfinished storage room. Every time they service the system, they leave an opening/draft in that ceiling. Hubby finally built an access frame so the plastic sheeting will stay in place. Now we can put all the boxes back in there. I made an eye appointment because the protective film is starting to wear on my glasses. Have been procrastinating because my doctor passed and I couldn’t settle on someone new. Hubby and I decided to go out for a nice lunch after taking care of banking and returning a Christmas gift. We both had seafood that was quite tasty. We stopped for a few groceries and did odd jobs until time to light the fire. We’d use this fireplace more if burning wood wasn’t quite so messy. My sister was able to walk around today and she hoped to get out of the house so that is great news. Maybe folks will get well and be able to get on with normal life. Parker’s basketball game at MD University has been postponed with the snowy forecast. Brooklyn plays indoor basketball tomorrow and a good thing, our high temp will be 30 degrees. Mancil will be snowboarding in much colder temps. I am hoping Brooklyn’s Sunday travel soccer game is also canceled because there is still some snow on the field and that part of our state is supposed to get more snow. We could be having a quiet weekend. Sure hope each of you have enjoyable plans as well. Thanks for visiting. It’s Kindle and kitty cuddling time in this house. “The sound of a crackling fire going in the fireplace, a nice warm blanket and a good book is just about heaven for me.” - E.L. Grimm
