It turned out that the L&B managed to keep lovely boss slaving away until about 8:30pm. He's not happy and is considering requesting the HR give “ownership” of the Drawing Office to a responsible adult.
FYC still off sick with total motivation loss.
I closed as many tasks as I reasonably could.

Back home and the final packing boxes filled and taped closed.

At 5:15pm my new employer sent me “New Starter” forms to fill out and return “by close of business today”. I hope they are working to U.S. time because I didn't even look at emails until 5:50pm GMT

They want me to upload my P45 (not yet available, obvs) and my professional qualifications.
I hope I haven't just walked into the mouth of a shark.
