Grass Roots

Even though, until this week,
it's rained and it's rained,
the beds in the garden
are very well drained.

The soil and the grass roots,
as dry as a bone,
have taken the texture
and shape of the stone.

So, before this old earth clod
is thrown on the tip,
I'll preserve it forever
by way of this blip!

Yay! It's been sunny and mild enough to be outdoors gardening today. Probably won't last, but it's an encouraging taste of spring.
