Momastery
Attended a most amazing book signing tonight with my two daughters. It was life-changing on many levels. It is rare that just the three of us have a girl's night out these days, so this night was an honor for me. But the unexpected happened. I heard a message that I was deeply in need of hearing from this blogger turned hero. The author's name is Glennon Melton and she writes a blog at momastery.com. She was on the Today show earlier this week which surprised her more than anyone else. Her message is be kind and be brave and she reminds us that we are not alone. Her tag line is: Truth Tellers + Hope Spreaders, and that has become her calling in life. She's doing a fine job of it too. Did I mention she is hysterically funny (bonus)? All while telling the honest truth about her imperfect life and family. It has opened doors for many, mostly women, who call themselves Monkees (a take on monks who live in a monestary. Get it? Please, please, please check out her writings and then share them, because every single one of us on planet earth could benefit from this reminder that we're all in it together and we're all doing the best we can. Even if you are not a mom or your kids are grown, or if you're a guy or if you have an aversion to blogs in general, please check it out. You're welcome.
Life is brutiful, she says. Both brutal and beautiful.
