Watchstrap
I’ve spent most of the afternoon trying (and succeeding) to replace the watchstrap on my watch. When I first got the watch, a proper replacement strap cost nearly as much as the watch did - and now you can’t get them at all. In the past, I took it to Timpsons near where I worked and they modified a standard strap to make it fit, just charging me for the strap. However, I don’t work near a Timpsons any more and anyway they don’t stock a rust coloured strap nowadays, so I bought one online and did it myself. It was VERY fiddly - the screws are tiny and I had to cut the strap to fit the metal clasp, but several hours and aching shoulders later, it’s done. I hope this one won’t wear out ever! The moral of this story - don’t buy a watch with a non-standard strap.
