Hunger Grumps

Woke up today feeling jaded thanks to last night's escapades, and walked 20 minutes to get breakfast with Meg's friend Sean, an American, who'd recommended a great place for American style breakfast. Unfortunately, the queue was huge, and we ended up going to a not so great bakery across the road. By this time it was lunch, meaning that I was a meal out of sync, and as anyone who knows me will testify I don't deal well with hunger.

We walked towards the Marée, and headed to get falafel. On the way Sean and Dan found a mattress by the side of the road, and decided for whatever reason that it would be a good idea to try and take it to their house - a very long way away. However, when Dan balanced it on his head and found an odd, damp stain, the mattress was swiftly returned from where it came.

We ended up wandering the Marée for a while before my hunger got too great and the falafel place drew me like a moth to a flame. Unfortunately, there was a huge queue for said flame on account of it being a Saturday on Easter weekend - coupled with 2 of the falafel places being closed. By this point my hunger grumps was off the scale, and I was hardly capable of un-furrowing my brow and replying with any more than single words. Meg ran off and came back with a grump-bag, which consisted of many a banana and crisps which was a saviour. Once we got to the falafel place, mine was inhaled in a very happy few seconds.

After eating them in a cold park, we headed to the dreaded (and non-Parisian) Starbucks for cheap coffee and to warm up. Then sauntered through the Louvre back to Meg's house for tea and crash out. Watched the amazing Intouchables before heading out to get take-away pizza.

Cycled on the now infamous Velib to the Eiffel Tower to see it sparkle in the dark. As I was on the way over Meg texted that there was a bomb scare and it had been evacuated, but couldn't see any sign of it when I got there.

It looks spectacular at night.
