Sun! Sun!
Although it was still dark when I woke this morning, I was still drinking tea when I realised it was going to be sunny, there was going to be an actual sunrise ... It did, in fact, remain blue skied and uninterruptedly sunny until after church; later there was more cloud about, but the lift in my spirits was probably childishly obvious. And we had some beautifully Vicar of Dibley-style moments in church; the fact that we have a male married priest doesn't alter the fact that occasionally we enjoy as much hilarity as Dawn French ever generated.
We actually made an effort to get out for a walk before 3pm, driving down to Loch Striven for a change of scene. Look, I said as we drove south - the sea is so calm, and all these birds are floating about - it'll be lovely. We rounded the corner at Toward Castle, past the grounds of Knockdow, parking on the shore side on the loch, got out of the car ... into what felt like a gale. The weather had changed because we'd moved out of the slack air at the centre of the High (or it had moved, rather) and the sea had been calm on the east-facing shore because the wind was from the west. Or maybe NWW. Anyway, it was blowy. But Himself managed the best part of 3 miles and the views were lovely.
Blipping a bit of shore near where we left the car - I liked the gold of the gorse against the blue of sea and sky. Now, is there a hymn coming on ...?
