Japanese Garden
We had to get up early this morning because we promised to take oldest to downtown Houston where the start of his marathon took place at 7 am.
After dropping him off, we drove to Denny's for breakfast, because what's open at 6am?
It was really cold, so we dragged it out a bit before we hit the road. We drove to Hermann Park and waited in the car a bit to make sure we were at the right spot to cheer oldest on when he would get there. We had perfect timing and got to see him between mile 8-9. Then we went for a walk in Hermann Park and visited the Japanese Garden. Although it was still around freezing temperatures, the sun was shining.
After our almost 4 mile walk, we got in the car and drove to a street from where we could see oldest again on his 22nd mile. He finished his first marathon at 3:16:06, so he was very happy.
