House
After church on Sunday I decided to take advantage of the fine, sunny weather and have a walk through Cumbernauld House Park and Cumbernauld Glen. Unsurprisingly, quite a few others had the same idea. It seemed like a spring day rather than the middle of January!
Cumbernauld House (pictured), now a private dwelling, dates from the mid-18th century and was designed by William Adam. It sits on the site of the former 13th century Cumbernauld castle, itself a replacement for an earlier motte and bailey castle. See new towns? See history!
