Men at work

The tree surgeons arrived at around 0900 hours this morning having got held up in traffic because the M11 was shut and all the motorway traffic comes through our village. Just two workers today, but later in the week there will be six of them.

The main picture shows the area they have been working on and this area alone is likely to take three days. It can be compared roughly with this picture taken on 11 January 2022 and this one from yesterday. There are extras, which which were taken today and show one of the “climbers” tackling the huge leylandii conifers. The pictures do not show the amount of work that has been done today as they have also trimmed a lot of branches that were hanging over the road. This was quite a delicate job as there are electric and telephone wires, where some branches had twisted round them. They will be back at 0800 hours tomorrow.

Noon Today – it was six degrees Celsius. After a heavy frost it was a dry and sunny day today.
