Working in the garden

We redesigned the front garden about 10 years ago when we took out the grass and planted a good load of shrubs that along with a weed proof membrane made for a nice looking low maintenance garden. A lot of the shrubs have got old, woody and overgrown. So last weekend we dug most of them out and this weekend took 1 and a half van loads of garden waste to the tip. The image is the shared bed that we dug over and put a new membrane and gravel in with a gap down the middle waiting for the lavender.
