Locked in

These 4 chickens usually have the run of a small strip of woodland. They belong to our Airbnb host where we stayed for the weekend. She explained that they were shut in because the local pheasants have been arriving mob handed and stealing all their food. The chickens were so stressed that they stopped laying. She's hoping that the pheasants will give up and go away but over breakfast we watched one pheasant on top of the run flapping its wings and a gang of others circling with menace.
