Shades

We were short of time this morning and so we walked from home instead of taking the dogs to the beach. We walked around our block and thought that the shades of light and dark was quite incredible. A long bank of dark clouds with a brilliantly sunny day beyond. It was quite warm and we needed to carry our coats.

Izzy and Tilly came after school and they were glazing their pots ready to go back in the kiln tomorrow.

When we took them home their dad told them that a duck had appeared out of the hedge with newly hatched chicks (see extra) quite a surprise in January and after some bitter cold days. The young family have been given a safe sheltered pen and if it gets really cold there is a heated pen available they can move to. The children were delighted as they love looking after the new arrivals.
