Oh, I do like to be beside the seaside ..

So mum still felt a bit iffy this morning, but we took things easy (well - she never exactly exerts herself!) and she actually ate a bit of lunch.

After lunch I escaped to Barmston beach where I spent a very happy couple of hours lying on damp sand amongst mussel shells and dead crabs and lobsters, stalking sanderlings.

And amongst the sanderlings were a few knot - and here's one of them having a mussel for his tea ..
