Life In Wales

Happy Birthday!

After our exciting night at The Forbidden Forest we were all tired this morning, and I was woken up by Scarlett at 7.30am saying ‘wake up Nanny, it’s my birthday!’ Rach got the girls ready for school before going down to open her presents - it’s not much fun having to go to school on your birthday! There’s no plans tonight, but she’s got a small party with 5 of her friends on Saturday.

I left Rachel’s to go to mum’s as I had a meeting booked with the site manager as the new bathroom was due to be finished today. I then planned to stay overnight to sort a few things out and also booked for a couple of estate agents to come round tomorrow as we need to look at the options of either selling or renting mum’s bungalow to help fund her care.

However when I arrived there were two guys in the process of tiling the bathroom - there was no toilet or any other bathroom fittings for that matter - I was livid! I phoned the site manager and asked if he was still meeting me and he said he was. I told him I wasn’t happy with the progress but also the fact that no one had phoned me to tell me the job wasn’t finished - they know I live in Wales! I got lots of apologies but he couldn’t say much more. They’ve also trod plaster into mums new carpets - at the beginning of the work they put carpet protectors down but they’ve worked their way loose and instead of putting fresh down they’ve just walked over the carpet, so I’ve said I want these cleaning. They had a radio playing music extremely loudly so I asked them to turn it down and respect the neighbours! I was not a happy bunny!

So I had to cancel estate agents and drive back home, I think I’ll be making a complaint tomorrow!
