Stunning light at Essex Bridge

The colours, the light, the intensity of the sparkle : so magical it touched the heart. 

This is one of my favourite places of beauty, but I’ve never been so moved.

It was minus four or five first thing. Even by ten thirty it was still at least two below. The steps and path were lethally slippery, but the fabulous views and atmosphere made venturing out so worthwhile.
