Frost at the Allotment.
There was quite a deep frost today with the ground staying hard so no need for wellington boots for my walk with Ginny. At the start it was white everywhere and there was a kind of quietness that you get after snowfall but as can be seen in the extra a bank of cloud started to roll in and in a very short time by the end of my walk it was dull. We had fog through till early afternoon when the sun came out again. In the left image you may be able to see a crow, adjacent to the "scarelady", who was hammering away at some frozen water. I think there must have been some food frozen in there as he did not give up or maybe he was just very thirsty. Then later on there was a frenzied screeching recognisable as foxes and one broke cover followed hotly by two more. I assumed this to be two males in pursuit of a vixen, but then again It may have been two vixens after a male....who knows?
