Star Trails
After an abortive attempt at a star trail photograph last night, I tried this one from my back garden this evening, safer environment for the camera and it meant I could retreat back inside to keep warm while waiting for the exposure, although the foreground might not be the most photogenic. This exposure was about 15 minutes.
Thanks to the star guide I got from the BBC 2 Stargazing Live program I was able to identify the pole star and include it in the picture so that all the other stars appear to revolve around it.
I think I will definitely try this again, perhaps when it is a bit warmer.
