The Ministry

This is Senate House, part of University College, London. It inspired the Ministry of Truth in George Orwell's 1984 - it's certainly an imposing building and it always takes me aback when I see it towering above the Georgian squares around it. Orwell's wife used to work in the building for the Ministry of Information.

It was lovely to see the sun shining in London just as it had been up in the Highlands. It made the journey from the sleeper train at Euston to the office much more bearable. I managed a good sleep on the train, so I wasn't that tired during the day. I even got to my desk earlier than I usually do when I leave from West Norwood. I should commute from Inverness more often!
