Rollin' on the....

...Ice Floes!

I thought the day was going to be a lost cause for a blip. It was one of those days when not much was happening... a bit of snow overnight, but not enough to cause any great excitement and the weather was not great for outings other than necessary errands..Snow cleanup was still underway by the town..snow ploughs were out pushing back snowbanks to widen streets back to normal, and carting snow away by the truck loads.

It was milder today, which caused a bit of melting -  just enough to make all that new snow heavier to shovel..and of course, we all had to clear the ends of our driveways again after the snow plough passed by - and by and by..and by again..Perhaps we had a novice or a very tired and over-worked plough driver in our area ? It took several tries before he got our street straightened out...the street corners in particular seemed to be a challenge for him .. ( he was my emergency back-up blip lest nothing else materialized...)

But it did. After a day of focused reading for book club, which usually puts me to sleep..and did...I woke up just in time to hop in the car and get down to the lake before darkness fell.....I wasn't expecting much as the cloud cover was pretty heavy..but as usual, the lake offered some neat images...not easy to capture with an iPhone, but worth trying...

Ducks on ice floes, slabs of ice on the shore, the last streaks of sunlight breaking through the cloud, a snowman on the beach...all of which beat out the snow plough!
