Frosty

It was frosty this morning and cold, feeling colder with a biting wind. The bright sunshine continues to be a bonus for January, but I decided it was too cold to do a bit more in the garden.
I completed my tax return this morning. It did not take very long and feels in my mind to be worse than it is. 
I am just finishing the latest book by Elif Shafak - "The Island of Missing Trees". I love her writing and can fully recommend her latest novel. Like all her novels that I have read they work on many levels, combining stories with different ideas, philosophy and socio-political situations in different cultures. Stimulating ideas, romantic stories, socio-political analysis all in a novel. What more can one ask for?
