Postcards from the States

After over ten years here, in time if not in blips, I've been thinking about being more flexible with my journal - actually recognising that it is a journal rather than just a showcase for a photograph I've taken. It might be quite liberating.

I never intend to live life through my children but their lives are much more exciting than mine at the moment! They're also proving to be very good at sharing thoughts and photographs from their trips to the States. Here, Roam is in LA watching the Rams at the SoFi stadium and Forrest is in Sedona, running trails and exploring the canyons.

After a long day spent writing, with minimal distraction, I rewarded myself with a film tonight. I chanced across All Hands on Deck on Mubi. It's French, both funny and sad, and rather wonderful. All the characters are flawed and thoroughly believable as real people, which means it's easy to become emotionally invested. Although it felt delightfully unrushed, it still packed in a lot of storyline. It's a little gem. Well worth seeking out.
