Groyne Number 3.

The popular Portobello promenade and beach are close to Edinburgh city centre. It was nice there at lunchtime today. We walked on the sand in the sunshine. The beach has won lots of awards for cleanliness and water quality, a few hardy folks were swimming. Six sturdy wooden groynes help prevent erosion of the beach at Portobello. The City of Edinburgh Council installed numbered signs of top of each groyne in Spring of 2021. Numbered 1-6, each helps folks be clear on their location if reporting an emergency to the Coastguard etc.

Watched FMQs from Holyrood later. At Westminster the Johnson party saga lumbers on. Miscellaneous announcements come forth to try to shift the news agenda to something else. Unsuccessfully.

Younger son selected for return to rugby this weekend after injury. He’s done his rehab.
