Witch hazel in the snow

A cold, blustery day with lots of graupel snow.

The witch hazel makes a bright splash of colour on a day like today. I planted it 3 years ago and it's such a joy to look at now, it seems to be thriving, and it was exactly for cold grey days like this in winter I put it in.
Extra shows the graupel snow crystals that have been falling on and off all day. It looks like hail but is much softer.
