‘The Return of the Sun’’

For two months of the year, our kitchen / dining room overlooking the garden, is without sun. Never rising high enough above the horizon, It disappears behind the neighbouring flats around the third week in November.

At the beginning of this week, however, it made its first appearance again through the French Windows that look onto the garden. First very briefly and tentatively but then, as the week went on, more strongly, leaving - just for a brief half an hour or so -  a bright patch of yellow light on the wall behind the dining table 

A cause for quiet celebration in this household, heralding the longer days to come!
