The Mute Swan weighing up to 14 KG and with a wing span of up to 2.4 metres is the heaviest British bird. Seeing it in flight is a truly awesome sight. 
The breeding season is not far off so we are seeing a lot of activity between the swans as they venture into the ponds looking for love. The are generally chased off by the resident swans. This swan was in the pond for all of a few minutes before being seen off.
