The Bench in the Woods
H and I met at Roman Camp this morning for a walk.
The name 'Roman Camp' is believed to have been coined around the turn of the 19th century by local horse drawn cab drivers as a means to make this place more appealing for tourists using the already existing earthworks to justify this 'assertion'.
It's quite a hilly area (by Norfolk standards) and we meandered up and down the slopes and through the woods before stopping for a coffee on the Cromer ridge, looking out to sea.
On the way back to the car park we found this bench in the woods, the moss and lichens and general weathering of the wood has resulted in it blending into its surroundings somewhat.
