Molly Malaise

Molly has been a bit under the weather recently, off her food, a bit of toilet trouble and generally not as full of life as usual.

Obviously at 12 and a half years old she is getting on a bit so it's not surprising she’s not as sprightly anymore, but she did suddenly seem to age and lose weight.

So earlier this week I took her to the vet for a check up.

The vet examined her, she is pale, losing blood somewhere and her stomach is swollen and tender. She might have an ulcer. So they gave us some Omeprazole and sent some blood off for tests.
The test results were inconclusive, liver and kidney function are good, and there was nothing in there to point to what was causing the issue.

The next step was an ultrasound which she had today, again quite inconclusive. The vet could see a bag of fluid and she is still losing blood but she is not as pale and generally seems happier. The plan is to keep her on her tablets for the next two weeks then the vet will reexamine her and we'll take it from there. Fingers etc crossed.
