Another Farewell

Today we said farewell to a member of our old church, who we knew as a fellow choir member but who had so many other rôles in the church and community.

A few days short of her 97th birthday, her service was identical to that of her late husband, also a much-loved member of the congregation, with the exception that she was a Verray, Parfit, Gentil, Prioress, (not Knycht) also taken from the Canterbury Tales. Comparisons were made, or dismissed, as appropriate, in the excellent Sermon, given by The Rev the Lord Griffiths of Burry Port, a friend of long-standing.

It was lovely to meet up with old friends, especially those who, before Covid-19 we might meet every other month, but also those visitors who had travelled for the service.
