Colour

This is the garden of friends S and N who grow three long beds of cut flowers. The hollyhocks are particularly spectacular this year. It is always a pleasure to walk past to see what is blooming this week.

Today, while it’s scorching a wee way inland, we are smothered by low cloud and occasional drizzle. It hasn’t got above 15C. So it’s mostly been a kitchen day, making soup for the freezer.

And of course I’ve picked a few things in the garden.

It’s much quieter and less eventful than yesterday. Phew…
