Mote Park - First day of Spring?
Was up early today to take my mother-in-law's old fence and associated rubble to the mobile rubbish truck. Had to break the old trellis fence up first and then load it into the car. Had to hoover the car out afterwards before breakfast (well, more like a brunch)
We went for our customary walk, this time into town and back through Mote Park where this shot of the bold, striking beech trees stood out in the first real sunny, slightly warmer weather. Our walk took us along paths we didin't know existed and we've lived here for over 35 years.
After an early dinner of Thai risotto we went up to London to the Kentish Town Forum to see a group called Walk off the Earth. My wife found the group when she was searching for a song she wanted to play on her guitar. They are a revelation and despite the disappointing sound quality we thoroughly enjoyed the concert. Good to be amongst so many young people. Only a few grizzled old grey haired men about.
WOTE are from Ontario, Canada and made their name through their mulit-instrumental talent, their videos, songwriting and sheer exuberance. They were obviously having a great time. Sarah Blackman didn't make any concessions to being 8 months pregnant!
Check out their website and check them out on YouTube. The posting that made them was their version of Gotye's "Somebody That I Used To Know" played on one guitar. You'll be hooked. To date over 148,000,000 plays on YouTube.
