Rockin' Robin
Yesterday's blue tit was a bit punky, today's robin is more of a rocker with that giant red beard.
Though I don't know if it's male or female. We now have two of them occupying the same space in the garden, not exactly friendly, but not overtly hostile to each other either. They both sing, and I don't think either of them is the photobomber that we had for two seasons, neither of them are confiding, and they rarely stay still long enough for a photo when I'm around. The photobomber had the unnerving habit of flying straight at you, almost glancing your face with his wings.
The song of the robin brightens up the winter days, though there is more of a chorus now with the dunnocks joining in, and the occasional song thrush too up in the woods. In the mornings the great spotted woodpeckers are drumming loudly. Spring is not far away.
The weather forecast for most of the UK today was drab. That about summed it up. Still, but for a short period when there was fine moisture in the air, it was mercifully another dry day. I did get some more allotment time in, and pruned the jostaberries and cleared a bit more of a weedy veg bed.
