Doing something a little different.
Spent most of the day farting around with the bigger painting....it's such a dog's dinner right now, that i have to just leave it for a few days...let the layers set up a bit and then we'll see. Got myself off in a direction that ended up with the dog's dinner, it was going quite well for a while...then - who knows what happens ;)
so i switched gears. I purchased a set of Paul deMarrais's oil pigment sticks...there are a few different brands on the market...R & F is the big one, they are very rich.....and very expensive....so i found this guy's product and they are great....maybe not as rich in pigment, but still pretty wonderful. Instead of painting with oil and cold wax i put down a few layers of pigment stick....a much more direct way to apply the paint also....and noodled about with these 2 little ones for a bit, while drinking my first glass of wine of the evening....not too shabby! i actually love how these sticks work....so direct, like drawing almost. anyway, these 2 are just at the beginning stages too!
As is often the case, i now have about 7-9 paintings in the 'beginning - further on" stage...but nothing is at it's completion! just as well that i love the process and not the end result eh!!!
