South Southerly
This elegant and noisy sea duck is known around here as a Southerly and sometimes we call them Squee. Other places farther north go with the name Old Squaw or Old Wife.
The cold air has sent a few ducks our way this week. Still no where near the numbers we have been used to in the past but they will continue to fly south until later this winter. Some years if it gets cold we toss corn overboard for them. Since the last 2 storms have caused the pier to no longer be passable I guess we will save the bags of corn for the WV deer.
