Good Neighbours
Thank you for your generous comments re our sleepover with a small boy who currently identifies as a baby shark !
I’m always a little apprehensive that he might get upset bring away from his parents for the night especially as he has become quite fearful at night .
After the reading of many stories and the oral retelling of the 3 little pigs he slept soundly until 3.30 when he woke up. His Grandpa does the night duty whilst I do the bedtime routine and get up . However , he has been getting so upset at night that he now has a double bed and his parents take turns to sleep with him once he wakes up in the early hours , it’s meant that they are all getting some sleep .
When he woke last night he was very sure that he wanted me to sleep alongside him , which we had sort of expected. He settled back down really well but every so often a little hand would creep across and hold my hair or touch my face just to check that I was still there . I made one escape bid but he knew so it seemed simplest to stay , he slept on until 8.30 and then went straight into a game which involved turning all the bedding into a cave . He is such a delight and brings such joy .
Later on we popped over to see Ruby the camper van with a view to removing the battery and charging it at home .
However our camper van neighbours also happened to be there and when we told them about problem they had an easy solution! They had a high power jump starter which they lent us to get Ruby going , there was no need to remove the battery which saved us from a tricky job .
We went and bought ourselves one on the way home , it was such a relief and hopefully we can have a run out tomorrow to the seaside in Ruby .
Now for tea.
Hoping that you fellow blippers have all had weekends usefully and pleasantly spent!
