This is the day

Ever decreasing circles

It's been another really grey day today, brightened up only by the wonderful church service we attended via 'Zoom' this morning, which gave us such a lift. It was a service of choral matins, and the choir were on fine form. They sang an anthem which was composed by one of their members, who is a very talented musician – I love her music. The anthem was all about ringing out the church bells and the accompanying music gave the impression of a peal of bells in the background. Absolutely wonderful.

This afternoon we went out for our usual walk but I didn't bother with the camera because of the greyness of the sky. Instead, I took this photo before we left because I was desperate to inject some colour into my journal. This Fisher Price pyramid of rings was bought for our first son, who is now 47! It has been played with by all three of our sons, and now by our three granddaughters.

Our eldest granddaughter, who is 10, has a different take on stacking the rings now she's more grown up. She likes to stack them upside down! Sometimes she stacks them upside down on the floor, and sometimes she stacks them upside down on the plastic spike, which is pretty incredible, given that it rocks and they are not supported inside the stack.  I am looking forward to seeing more of her 'thinking outside the box' in the future ...
