Freezing over

After unusually warm temperatures extending until New Years Eve, more seasonal temperatures have been in place since then, with particularly low temperatures Thursday and yesterday, when the temperature in the morning was 14 F (-10C)! This has resulted in the lake at Sharon woods, where we went walking this afternoon, freezing over. We walked through the gorge, where there were numerous icicles along the stream, but I finally went with this photo of the lake, with the rays from the late afternoon sun stretching across it, and lightening up the patterns in the ice.
