A time for everything

At the library

Friday
Roger was at church this morning. He is now on the Trustees, responsible for the church building. He was working with another older gentleman, but a retired, trained electrical engineer, in one of the classrooms, replacing fluorescent tubes with LED tubes, which apparently requires some rewiring of the units. I was at home, other than a trip to the library to pick up several books I had on hold, including the one for Book Club next month. I shan’t be here to go to it, but I will still read it. My blip is of the Symmes township branch library, one of two I regularly frequent - we’re equidistant from Symmes and Blue Ash - both part of the Cincinnati and Hamilton Library system. The quote above the door reads “ Books are the treasured wealth of the world and the fit inheritance of generations and nations”’ Henry David Thoreau.
In the early afternoon, we went hiking at Long Branch Farm and trails, just a couple of miles today, as it was really quite cold.
It was a big day for our daughter Laura today, who moved up to northern Wisconsin on December 27. Having been staying in an Airbnb since then, she finally got to move into her apartment. She doesn’t have any furniture yet, but some will be arriving over the weekend, so one thing to buy this afternoon was an air mattress so she has somewhere to sleep tonight and tomorrow! The bed is supposed to arrive on Sunday. She has acquired a used dresser and TV stand, which someone is helping her, pick up tomorrow. We were on the phone with her half the afternoon as she was shopping for various things, asking our advice on prices and makes. Having been living out of the country for 8 years, she’s out of touch with current pricing. Having been rushing around all day, she then had to go to the airport at 9 pm to be part of the team welcoming another Afghan refugee family. She has a busy week coming up with five new families arriving!
