Snow Buntings

We have had a very exciting day today. 

Kwchas had heard that there were Snow Buntings along the Wirral coast so we went armed with a list of places where they had been seen and went in search of them. Can't believe how lucky we were....... there were 6 of them in the dunes right next to the path in the first place we stopped!

I've never seen snow buntings in the wild before so was very excited to spot them, and so close too. This probably won't mean much to you unless you are a bird watcher but it really made my day :-))
