Icing on the cake
It was my turn to host book group and rather than everyone heading north on Monday in darkest January, I headed south and hosted in Edinburgh , courtesy of Hazel - who in addition to aiding and abetting helped with the shopping, preping and clearing up and literally as well as metaphorically provided the icing on the cake.
We had a full house and it was lovely to see everyone.
The book I'd selected was O Caledonia by Elseoth Barker, a poignant and beautifullg written tale of growing up but not old which should be better known.
